More Information
Please Note
Each night is confirmed and each will be different films/shorts - no repeats. All will be big adventure on the big screen! Each night will include mixed content rather than last year's themes - this means each evening will include climbing/cycling/ski or boarding & other content. If you can't make one night, the others will have similar - but more importantly totally different features. We hope you will join us for all the events.
About Us
As a rural market town we don't often get the opportunity to see the likes of these features without travelling some distance. We here at the Ritz see it as part of our broader community function to give people this opportunity locally - please support this event so we can continue to offer this content. We have NO paid staff and our band of approximately 70 volunteers staff the cinema in teams, every day, year round with no independent revenue stream. Ticket sales alone fund the ongoing running of this important community asset and all profit is reinvested to keep the Ritz here today, tomorrow and for the future. . Hopefully the LMFF content will supplement our regular offering of up to date films and boost our audience figures which have still not reached pre COVID-19 levels. We also hope to reach a new audience who have not yet experienced the Ritz’s atmosphere.
Accessibility
We have a capacity of 161 (73 upstairs, 88 down) with modern seating and all you would expect of a modern cinema but with historic period cinema features and charm. Wheelchair access is available to the lower auditorium with 4 generously sized designated wheelchair spaces and we have accessible toilets, We provide an Acoustic Loop in the auditorium.
Please note that though we normally show our regular Sunday night films with subtitles these special event films are generally not (though a few - even English language - do come in this format). Foreign films do of course have English subtitles by default.
Tickets
All evening shows are £7 which includes a £1 online booking fee, (which we do not get) tickets are available to purchase on the door on the night too. Online booking guarantees you a seat (but not a specific seat) Bookings now available!
