LMFF Community Events Feedback 2026
Last year 3500 of you rocked up at LMFF host venues across the land and beyond, and between you raised £30,000 for projects or charities closer to your adventurous hearts.
We've picked out JUST 3 cracking examples which illustrate the variety of organisations and venues in which these events can be held by folk like you - and your different motivations for getting involved!
Howe Beer Project, Fife
£1500 raised!
"Wow, was that an amazing experience! I think it's pretty safe to say that our event was the hottest ticket in rural Fife on Saturday night. And everyone really enjoyed themselves. Kudos to LMFF for creating this kind of opportunity to put on a community-based mountain film festival. We will definitely come more prepared next year to do additional screenings during the festival period, so do keep us in the loop with updates for next year!
We sold 150 tickets for our screening, so along with our staff and volunteers, we probably had over 160 people in attendance! (Tickets sold out in the first 3 days, which was insane and unexpected for us, but goes to show how high the demand for this type of event is!) And between ticket sales and a raffle on the night, we raised £1500 for Dundee Trail Therapy!
Quality wise, I think the film selection was amazing. We didn't get anywhere close to pre-screening all of the possible films, so 120 or 150 are both far greater numbers than we'd have had time to review. But the variety was excellent - both in topic and length - you could find any tempo or subject you were looking for, which made curating the selection super fun! The search functions were super helpful to whittle down the list and ensure we covered all the bases (climbing, biking, watersports, etc) and to help find the shorter films that we used to complete our reel.
The whole process, from start to finish, felt seamless and intuitive. The platform and all the information LMFF provided made it super easy to deliver the event - major effort on your part, I'm sure, but everything felt so simple on our end."
Watchet Commmunity Cinema
£400 raised!
"We had another fantastic year. Might have to have a bigger venue for 2027! In all we had 70 audience and we made £400 for Watchet community Cinema which was fantastic.
Once again the films were eclectic, some very local, and were thoroughly enjoyed. We now seem to have a good audience space who are already looking forward to next year selection. We are really proud of your LMFF group for setting up this festival.
All the tech went extremely well and we had no hiccups at all. Very proud to think that we’re probably the only group in the south West! Not including bath obviously!

Manchester Outdoor Education Trust
£1000 raised!
"A huge ‘thank you’ from Manchester Outdoor Education Trust (MOET) for allowing us to be a LMFF community partner.
Our event was a great success with 85 attending our film night.
On the evening a group of talented individuals made cakes (including Dizy who was 75 on the night – she spent her birthday night with us!) that were enjoyed by all and brought our income total up including ticket sales to £1,050.
This was an incredibly positive experience for MOET:-
The funds raised will make a marked difference to the groups and individuals we support in accessing the Great Outdoors.
The films were inspiring and motivational and many attending will go on to participate in great adventures as a result.
The evening was in itself an enjoyable gathering of fabulously adventurous people with a warm buzz and friendly feel.
We will be very keen to host another LMFF Community Event in 2027.
